Idiots like Jordan keep repeating---like it makes a difference---that the July 25th call could not

possibly be a quid pro quo because the Ukranians had no prior knowledge of military aid being linked to an "investigation".

Could someone PLEASE point out that, even IF there was no prior knowledge by the Ukrainians, Trump made the linkage himself IN THE JULY 25TH CONVERSATION as summarized by the idiot himself!

And, could we please keep in mind that even if there was no quid pro quo, we would still be looking at the solicitation of foreign intervention in an upcoming US presidential election BY THE SITTING POTUS WHO IS SEEKING REELECTION!

I admire and envy the restraint shown by the Democratic committee members, said restraint being evidenced by the fact that neither Jordan or Ratcliff have been smacked up side their heads.

at least before we had a ton of evidence that he had actually been running this racket for months.

merely asking for ukraine to help him in his political election was a crime, even if he hadn't extorted them in the process.

withholding legally authorized funds for personal advantage was another crime, even if he hadn't specifically linked helping him in the election.

the link is merely another level of criminality. it's not even necessary to establish impeachable offenses.

Based on her conversations with Ambassador Volker and acting Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor, Cooper understood that Ukrainian officials were aware that security assistance had been frozen as of August 2019 — before that fact was publicly reported.

Damaging signal
Cooper said that she and her colleagues were worried that delaying security assistance to Ukraine would send a damaging signal about “a wavering in our commitment” that would weaken a strategic partner.

Both Washington and Kyiv did not want the withholding of funds to be made public while there was a chance that the money would be restored. A withdrawal of aid would potentially strengthen or embolden Russia, Cooper said.

“We did not want for this to be a big public discussion… because we didn’t want to signal any lack of support…,” she said. “They [Ukraine] are trying to negotiate a peace with Russia, and if they are seen as weak, and if they are seen to lack the backing of the United States for their Armed Forces, it makes it much more difficult for them to negotiate a peace on terms that are good for Ukraine.”
