Network Coverage of shooting seems a little much..
Yes these tragedies must be covered extensively.. I get it..
The lives destroyed...The pain inflicted..families destroyed.
Yes it needs to be covered..
But todays coverage should have been completed by now..
I always have the gut feeling that since the coverage is so extensive..
that it might give the sick ones more of a motive to commit such terror.
(No need to explain)
But more importantly ... Networks only really care about viewers..
No need to explain..
Extensive coverage needed for ongoing danger..Absolutely!
But when the coverage lasts 4-6 hrs after the shooter has either killed himself
or by police.. The only thing I can assume is that we have a country which addicted to
shooting network coverages... So sad...

(11,343 posts)This enriches the NRA. They get funds like crazy after a shooting. They are truly evil and they helped put *him in office
With that being said, the nation needs to see this tragedy and get appropriately pissed, horrified, depressed, and motivated.
And then back to fighting the NRA by educating America on impeachment or voting Democrat

(25,239 posts)what would the networks televise? Would they concentrate on the shooting or the proceedings? Someone at the network would have to make the decision which they feel is more important. Just asking?

(53,410 posts)we would forget the abominations in an hour. I think people forget even with the huge coverage.
Without coverage the laws will never change. Never. If nothing else the high school students who reach voting age will stop this insanity. We boomers have failed miserably on this issue. Its shameful.

(8,515 posts)I agree with you whole heartedly... Coverage is absolute...until shooter's captured.
I think 90 minutes after capture or death of the shooter is ample..
