BOLTON also had very specific advice about what to do about anything SONDLAND-related: "Do not get involved, and make sure the lawyers are tracking."

is devastating as far as I am concerned.

(13,574 posts)himself for this bunch. If anything he's probably really pissed off at Trump. They had the chance to really get things going their way if he wasn't such a criminal.

(11,518 posts)I read an interesting analysis yesterday which suggested that there were plenty of repub Senate votes to remove tRump -IF- the votes were secret.
The writer of that piece suggested that it MIGHT be possible to have a secret vote because the rules for the Senate hearing will only need 51 Senators to pass them. All it would take would be 3 or 4 repub Senators to hold out for a secret vote. There are a handful of repub Senators who are retiring, possibly a few of them might grow a spine. We also know that Romney is no fan of tRump, so he could possibly be one more.
Not holding my breath though.

(10,270 posts)That 'day X would be the day to schedule those drs appointments' so that the president can be impeached by the democratic majority PRESENT ON THAT DAY.
And if that saves mcconnels own seat, you can bet your next paycheck his weasel reptilian ass will do exactly that.

(6,679 posts)It won't matter what the Republicans want. It only matters what Mitch wants.
Although to be fair, I never thought we'd even get THIS far.

(6,802 posts)Say there are four charges for impeachment. one quarter of the republicans could vote for one charge only, with none of the charges getting a conviction. Then each individual Republican could claim A vote FOR conviction, but, "hey sorry the one I voted for did not carry, Whoopsie, well darn it looks like none of them carried, how about that? " They would do something that manipulative I think.

Specially fermented.
Tasted wonderful.
Then I learned that Christmas Kimchi meant that clams/oyster were added (raw) and fermented along with the cabbage, etc.
Tried it but couldn't convince other loved ones to join in. Still fermenting.....

(34,373 posts)I had some Swedish neighbors once and they wanted me to try Surströmming. The second they opened the can and the smell hit my nose, I almost ralphed. It was horrendous. I never did get it close enough to my mouth to taste it.

(6,831 posts)who loved Lutefisk. It's not worse than Surstromming, but it comes close. They soak it in LYE until it is the consistency of mush.
It hit my tongue and I could not tolerate it in my mouth for one more nanosecond. They were understanding, but the look on my face must have conveyed my terror, because they handed me a bowl (to spit it out into).
P/S HOW were you able to put that umlaut in there ? I don't know how to do that, which is embarrassing because I speak German.

(6,831 posts)Balut is considered a delicacy in the Philippines. It is the fertilized egg of a bird (usually a duck), which is incubated for 14-21 days (and sometimes that means buried in the sand/ground), depending upon the local area custom, then steamed or boiled (or not), then eaten right from the shell.
It is not for the faint of heart.
