Fox & Friends hosts deflated after legal analyst drops the hammer on Trump: The law is not on the presidents side
Published 3 days ago on November 14, 2019
Fox News legal analyst Andrew Napolitano on Thursday delivered some sobering news to the hosts of Fox & Friends, who did their best to spin Wednesdays impeachment hearings as a win for President Donald Trump.............................................
................
Everybody does have their own opinion, he acknowledged. But there doesnt seem to be any dispute that the president wanted dirt on Biden and the president was willing to hold up military aid in order to get it.
Co-host Brian Kilmeade then interjected to say that Trump should have been asking Ukraine to investigate the Bidens but Napolitano stopped him dead in his tracks.

The law is not on the presidents side, he said. The law says asking for a campaign favor, whether it arrives or not
But its not a campaign favor! Kilmeade objected.
Well that depends on how you look at it, Napolitano replied. Is he investigating 2016 or does he want dirt on Biden for 2020?
Earhardt then tried to claim that Trump couldnt have been engaging in extortion because Ukraine eventually received its money.
The delay is the quid pro quo, he replied. The delay of 55 days knowing that the Russians were at the border.

(17,884 posts)Earhardt....you stupid mother fucker....Ukraine received the aid and no investigations were announced only because the scheme blew up prematurely. Jesus H. Christ, she's a walking, talking stereotype.

(21,529 posts)Drumpfs condition for getting the money was Ukraine had to publicly announce the investigation. Which was clearly meant to damage Bidens candidacy.

(33,262 posts)The announcement itself would damage Biden and Trump could point to that announcement in every rally. Trump would also be able to claim it was initiated by Ukraine with no involvement on his part.
It was an attempt to create "dark" propaganda.

(12,847 posts)Are they true believers in Trump and the political propaganda they spew, or are they mercenary actors playing a role because they are paid well?

(23,951 posts)...they DONT believe the bilge they are spewing.
I wonder the same thing about all the right wing senators and representatives. I think most of them just want to stay in power/office so they say the crap their voters want to her. More hypocrisy.

Not nearly enough of either.

(12,498 posts)It seems that the big money wins.
Tim Russert used to be a liberal then Jack Welch bought Tim's soul for multi-million dollar paychecks and a house on Nantucket. Tim then helped Chris Matthews pile up on Phil Donahue and get his show cancelled. Then Tim and Chris both became Instant Cheney lovers. It was all about the money.
I miss the Media Whores Online site that helped flush out the Russert-like stench.

(12,847 posts)I've never had to choose between professional integrity and economic security so I am not in the best position to judge, but I suspect some of these turncoats were driven more by ego and greed than dire need.

(5,106 posts)I've actually started to appreciate them, especially Kristol. They're like the actual friends in in your life who have different political views, but you know are sincere in their beliefs, and aren't viciously close-minded. Sean Hannity and his ilk are hopeless, on the other hand. Trump has certainly separated the (somewhat) critical thinkers from the deplorables.

(3,522 posts)It was sickening, and I mean SICKENING. Featured Hannity and Tucker. From memory, I heard comments about how the ambassador was using the hearing as a 6 hour therapy session, Tucker bellowing is this the kind of people who represent us abroad?, Hannity raging against Schiff with lies and slander. I couldnt believe what I was seeing. It stuck with me for hours; a 2 minute segment in the hate spewing network that profoundly disturbed me.
And I thought; what about all those people who are too busy/lazy/indifferent to watch the hearings and just rely on clowns like Hannity and Tuck to get their takeaway? Its literally a whole other universe, a topsy turvy opposite land over there.

(23,167 posts)Those two assholes make me ill as well. And you're right--the REALLY sickening part is that millions of viewers suck in their bile and regard it as gospel. In their wormhole view of reality, up is down, truth is fiction, and wrong is right. Fox needs to be burned to the ground, and have the ashes buried in Chernobyl.

Read his column that was released recently.
