Are they setting up health issue(s) to stop the hearings

You know damn well they will pull out all the stops, they are panicking, scrambling. They do not want this weeks witnesses sworn in. Or stepping down for health reasons,. This is the most likely scenario imo. I am fine with that. Go NY!

1. There is zero chance Trump will testify before the committee...

so I don't think so. Not much sympathy for this devil out there other than in Trumplandia.

They could be hatching some crazy plan using his health to try to stop it.

11. I'm down with the "setting up a medical reason to resign" theory...

that could be possible. But other than that, the Dems are going to stop the investigations or hearings because Donny is sick.

2. That wouldn't work. Trump won't be called to testify.

However, his resignation would end the investigation immediately, since he could no longer be impeached. He knows that. He also knows that Pence will pardon him for all federal offenses. Still, the more bad news that comes out about Trump, the less Pence is going to be willing to issue that pardon.

Time is running out for Donald J. Trump. He could use "medical concerns" to justify his resignation in his own mind, instead of admitting that he is totally screwed by the investigation.

If Trump resigns, he skates. If he doesn't, all the truth will be revealed. Trump can't survive that. I think he resigns very soon. My opinion only, of course.

It's just not. The 25th Amendment is a very, very poor way to get rid of a President.

Trump, I think, is about ready to resign and take his pardon. The information that will be coming out in the next week is going to hurt him badly. He knows exactly what is going to come out. It's the end times for Donald J. Trump. He can use a medical excuse for his resignation to make it appear that circumstances override his other reasons. He might say something like this:

"The doctors tell me I have to reduce my stress levels or I'll die, but the Democrats won't let me do that. So, it's the Democrats' fault that I am forced to resign to save my own life. I blame "Shifty Schiff" and "Poisonous Pelosi" for all of this."

12. If he resigns, he loses his arguments in state and federal courts for not releasing his taxes.

And Congress can still obtain his taxes. Tax returns for anyone can be requested for any reason or no reason at all, and the IRS must produce them. That's the law, no matter what Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin says.

If Trump stays, the pressure of the impeachment, added to the stress of campaigning and his less-than-healthy diet, may give him a heart attack. The sudden trip to Walter Reed -- allegedly to visit the troops, whom we know he cares about deeply -- could be to see if chest pains are a warning sign for the latter.

So he's facing the choice: be impeached or die. Rock, meet hard place.

I'd vote on the one that keeps his ego intact.

3. NOTHING would suprise me with Trump and Republicans

How long will it be until we hear some utter the message point "How dare the Democrats go after the President when the nation should rally behind him with his health on the line." Play the victim card to the hilt.

This whole thing has me doing one big eye roll. I don't care either way if its real or fake. Trump's drama queen antics are BEYOND boring and predictable.

It seems like they would at least start to drop clues, if this is part of a plot.

13. Well, from what I know about conservatives, they can show you how brutal mean

they are one minute, and when it starts to backfire on them they go into the "You can't kick me when I'm down" mode. It doesn't even matter if it's an act. You just have to remember that none of us are immortal. Or rather, they need to start understanding that none of us are immortal and we all have grief and sadness in our lives. The fact that they think they have the right to add to those sorrows is a very poor strategy. It's just another act of entitlement and privilege for them to think that their pain and misfortune should be some kind of stopper to the retaliation they deserve.

Didn't he already say that it was Phase One of a routine physical? How can he switch to illness now? I think he did have some kind of pain that alarmed them, but I don't think it has to do with getting out of the hearings or plausible deniability.

I'd like to know who is at dock in Florida, but I don't know how to find out. Very curious as to why every last Trump wants to be Florida citizens.

If he did resign, do we have to pay for his security anymore? I'd like him to sail away forever, and never come back.
