Should the house pass a law concerning presidential family members

Profiting from their association with the president?

Since the republicans are so concerned about Hunter Biden, they should be 100% bwhind this type of legislation.

We could extend it to the VP and all federally elected officials. Surely Moscow Mitch would move that to the head of the line.

Any bill must also pass the Senate and be signed by the President. We have a system of government, as described in the Constitution. I recommend that you read that document again.

The House cannot make any laws by itself. It can pass bills, but every last one of those has to also pass the House and not get vetoed by the President. There are no shortcuts or ways around that.

I think the point is to vote responsible people into office in 2020. Then, it won't matter what color Republicans' eyes are, will it?

My point is that the House can do nothing on its own. We need a majority in the Senate and a Democrat in the White House. Nothing else really matters if we don't accomplish that.

The house can do many things on its own. Passing legislation is only a part of congresses job.

As has been said, if the democratic party hadn't regained the house Trump would have successfully gotten Ukraine to announce investigation of Biden. That announcement would have given the republicans cover to open hearings on Biden in the house and senate.

The house does oversight. We're seeing that in action.

the same standard as the suspected perp in SEC/insider trader dealings. Why shouldn't family members be held to the same standard as the president while he or she is in office?
