(146,192 posts)It's an excellent idea, too. I take extensive notes when I meet with clients in my work. I don't take notes during our meeting, but write a detailed account of the meeting immediately afterward, typically on my laptop or notebook computer. During the meeting, I work from a set of questions that need answers from the person I'm meeting with. I might jot a word or two on the page with the questions, but I go into detail after the meeting.
I make similar notes anytime I meet with anyone where what is discussed is important. Mortgage lenders, car salespeople, etc. Those notes make it easy for me to remember exactly what was discussed, even weeks later.
But, it's not something most people do. And i wasn't trained to do it in school, either.
