TPM: The Holmes Prepared Testimony Is a Way Bigger Deal Than Expected

..................

One of the most interesting parts of the prepared statement comes at the end when Holmes explains why he is only coming forward now. According to Holmes, he had reviewed other witnesses testimony and thought his recollections broadly matched Yovanovitch’s and Taylor’s testimony. So his was unneeded. It was only when he heard the “hearsay” arguments, that no one had direct information about Trump’s involvement or words, that he realized his account might be useful. In other words, the GOP’s ‘hearsay’ talking point seems to have backfired rather spectacularly.

- extortion
- hiding money
- stealing taxpayer dollars
- representing their wealthy clients
- wearing flag lapels
- being bloviating fools
- not understanding "unintended consequences"

This last one has given us the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, and constant Middle-East conflicts.

But it also gives us the beautiful irony of a potential non-witness coming forward because of their frothing.

When will they ever learn? (I hope never.)

try to squirm or weasel out their crimes either by blaming someone else,
pretending it isn't a crime when they commit it or just flat out stand
together, singing in unison, all the lies they can make up in order to
escape accountability as they have always done.
