Obama's Last Minute Push For Louisiana Gov Race Beat Trump's Rally

President Barack Obama’s last minute push for the Democratic candidate in Louisiana was more successful than Trump’s campaign for the Republican.

John Bel Edwards was reelected on Saturday after Trump held a campaign rally for the Republican loser.

“Gov. John Bel Edwards is getting a last-minute boost to his get-out-the-vote efforts from former President Barack Obama, who recorded a robo-call earlier this week where he praises Edwards’ expansion of Medicaid and flood recovery and urges people to vote for him.

The robo-call, paid for by the Democratic State Central Committee of Louisiana, is about a minute long and also features state party chair Karen Carter Peterson, who introduces Obama, according to a recording posted to social media by the campaign of Congressman Ralph Abraham, one of Edwards’ rivals in Saturday’s election. ”

to a KY House District that was in a special election and it targeted the large # of African American voters in the district with GOTV request!

It worked. Salvaged that Democratic District and I think it is one of the ones which escaped in 2016.

Someone introducing Obama was a bad idea. I’ve been flooded with calls day and night(New Orleans suburb) and had to cut most of them off. I blocked Republican numbers and just listened to unique Democratic pitches. I’m sorry to say I hung up on Petersen’s robocall not waiting for Obama.

That’s a robocall I would’ve had wanted to hear and save. My bad.

Hello, this is Barack Obama. I know it's just a robo call, but it made me smile.
