1. If it was something small, he could have just gotten looked at by the White House doctor, in the White House. That implies that there was something more serious going on, which required the equipment and services of a full-scale hospital. One can hope...

2. He's trying to start the narrative of resigning the Presidency due to some health issue like a brain spur, followed by an immediate flight to Moscow. He may be trying to cut a deal to resign in exchange for not being prosecuted.
