(225 posts)The RWNJ's have been going on that he's a spy, not loyal (gasp! He wasn't born here), shouldn't even be a soldier because (gasp) he looks overweight.

(4,066 posts)Vindman is doing what so many soldiers didn't have the courage to do under the despot Hitler. He's a man who believes in his oath to the Constitution and knows illegal orders when he sees them. He knows Trump is a want-to-be despot and he knows when that despot does illegal things.

It's the Trump approach to of life.
Fat Donnie probably paid (or promised to pay--they're still waiting for their money) someone to alter Eric's birth certificate to eliminate his name as father.

(36,827 posts)The corruption theme was implied, even though Trump never once spoke of it which is totally different than the fake implied "quid-pro-quo" which was spoken about numerous times previously, given with a wink and a nod during the phone call, made a foreign policy priority by Trump himself, and even insured by his personal lawyer circumventing the entire State Department and palling around with the Ukrainian mafia who was working on behalf of the Russian mafia.

(11,726 posts)There is the old legal proverb:
"If you have the facts on your side, pound the facts. If you have the law on your side, pound the law. If you have neither on your side, pound the table."
Republicans pound the table because they have neither facts, nor the law on their side.

This is a burdensome war of fascist insurgency against democracy, and our State Dept and Intel, full of great Americans, meet the call.
But we should never again allow bad government so often that it's their constant burden to come forward and make it right.

(48,986 posts)Extortion and Bribery are obviously kinds of corruption, with Bribery even mentioned in the Constitution.
But we are told by tRump's defenders we should believe that he is fighting corruption around the world by extorting with taxpayer funded military aid and bribing with a meeting in the Oval Office.
It's that nonsensical.
