and a handful of (retiring) House Republicans vote to impeach, would that be considered a victory? Say 5-10 Republicans.
How about if that happens and then the vote in the Senate is 60-40 to convict on most charges, meaning 7 Republicans voted to Convict Trump? Would that damage Donny Dollhands enough to kill his re-election chances?

He only survived because of a technicality exploited by a minority of irresponsible senators. But don't forget that a BIPARTISAN MAJORITY of the Republican-controlled Senate wanted him removed."

Pence can't win an honest general election. So the best course of action is for the dump to exit stage far right to devote more of his expert wisdom to his causes. And to foment more mayhem. Maybe insist that he was deep-stated and the country should rise up to make his family royalty.
