Is Nunes "cold-reading" his opening statement? Was it written by someone else and handed to him at the very last minute?
He has the reading skills of a 2nd grader. He's reading words, not sentences... not complete thoughts. And some of those words he's sounding-out without comprehension to their actual meaning.
Pathetic.

(3,245 posts)but from all the great DU threads over the last couple of days, I'm starting to think that Nunes has effectively been sidelined in favor of Jordan.

(73,536 posts)to the accuracy of the rumor I'd like to start, but I am convinced that Nunes wants to subpoena the estate of Jeff Epstein, to see if he had nude photos of Trump that could be introduced in these hearings.
I noted earlier on a different thread that I would like to attend a staff meeting at the mental health clinic where I used to work, to hear others' opinions on why Nunes is so focused on nude photos of Trump.

(86,565 posts)taking his seat, hand him a manila folder, offered a couple words and then everyone sat down, the guy walked away. From observing his delivery, it's clear it was his first reading of the text.

(86,565 posts)which service you're watching through. I'm on MSNBC live feed. They don't show the room except outside official hearing time. The hand off was right after Nunes arrived. There was a camera outside the room showing people going in and that guy with the folder started to enter and someone from inside shut the door in his face, he had to go find another entrance.

(42,862 posts)It appears so. I had originally expected it to be a single source video feed (kinda like CSPAN or something) where all the networks and outlets used the video provided by a single set of cameras.

(86,565 posts)Since they are all present, they have access with their own feeds since the Interwebs are kind of full during these events. I think a lot more are watching online than on teevee. And that's a really good thing.

(42,862 posts)I thought that's what I saw from a VERY brief wide-angle shot... I was hoping to see another shot that confirmed whether or not he had returned, but on CBSN (streaming on Roku) it was never clear if/when he returned.

(82,849 posts)His hero is a man who comes out of a years-long coma. While he's rehabbing, he can't get steady work as a teacher (his job before his accident), and he winds up tutoring a high school boy. Gifted athlete, prime Division I recruit, dead meat as a student. The hero is having the boy read a Zane Grey novel aloud. The boy painstakingly reads word by word, and King likens him to a gunner at a lonely outpost, shooting down each word as he goes through the text. That's what Nunes sounded like trying to read his opening statement.
