Kash Patel, Nunes staffer, from Hill testimony

"Fiona Hill testifies that Trump thought Kash Patel was in charge of Ukraine matters at the NSC. Vindman was in charge of Ukraine though, she said. Meaning it seemed Patel -- a recently former Nunes staffer -- was delivering Ukraine info straight to Trump."

All you have to do is tell a Trump what he wants to hear, you’re good.

This country can’t run this way much longer.

Lt. Col. Vindman Says Author of ‘Nunes Memo’ Misrepresented Himself as Ukraine Expert

Patel, a former counterterrorism prosecutor in the Justice Department’s National Security Division and senior aide to Nunes, had joined the the National Security Council staff in February with no apparent experience in Ukraine or Ukrainian politics.

Prior to joining the administration, Patel was lionized by conservatives for authoring the infamous 2018 “Nunes Memo,” which alleged that the FBI intentionally misled a FISA court judge regarding the origins of the “Steele Dossier” in an effort to unlawfully surveil the Trump campaign and help Hillary Clinton win the 2016 presidential election.

The memo was roundly mocked by legal professionals and law enforcement officers. Even Trump’s hand-picked FBI director Christopher Wray issued a statement saying the bureau had “grave concerns about material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memo’s accuracy.”

and Presto! You're in.
Just ask William Barr.

Truth is never the issue in the Trump administration, only accommodation to the president.

front and center in this investigation shortly. Investigative Reporters have linked Nunes,Patel, and other Nunes Staffers to feeding info directly to the Trump Handlers.

Another to watch for is Senator Richard Burr. Stories of his feeding info as well.

From 2018:

Patel was issued a rare “order of ineptitude” in 2016 by U.S. District Judge Lynn Hughes, who faulted the lawyer’s handling of the prosecution of Omar Faraj Saeed Al Hardan, who was accused of trying to support ISIS.

“If the pretentious lawyers from ‘main’ justice knew what they were doing — or had the humility to ask for help from the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Texas,” Hughes wrote, “it would not have taken three days, seven telephone calls, three voicemail messages and one snippy electronic message for them to indirectly ask the court for assistance in ordering a transcript.”
[…]
Hughes then demanded Patel’s passport to prove he’d just arrived from an overseas flight, and he asked why he had been chosen to participate if there were other prosecutors nearby in the U.S. Attorney’s office.

“What is the utility to me and to the people of America to have you fly down here at their expense, eat at their expense and stay at their expense when there are plenty of capable people over there, in this room plus over there?” Hughes said. “You’re just one more nonessential employee from Washington.”

“You don’t add a bit of value, do you?” the judge added

A White House official sued Politico and one of its reporters Monday, claiming its coverage putting him near the center of the impeachment drama was defamatory.

Kash Patel, a former lawyer for the Republicans’ side of the House Intelligence Committee who early this year joined the White House National Security Council, filed the suit in state court in Virginia. Patel claimed Politico undertook a “malicious effort” to “target and destroy the stellar career and reputation of a dedicated attorney.”

On Monday, Patel alleged in the rambling, harshly worded suit that Politico and its reporter, Natasha Bertrand, conspired with House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, via “real-time” leaks from the chairman, to knowingly publish false and defamatory information about him.

Breitbart published a draft version of the suit on its website. Online records of the Henrico, Virginia, County Circuit Court show that a suit from Patel against Politico and Bertrand was filed Monday.

For a great take-down of the pathetic lawsuit, read the blogging lawyer at Wonkette:

You know this isn't a real lawsuit because it was filed by Devin Nunes's lunatic libelslander lawyer Steven Biss, who still has an earthlink.net email in the year 2019, is currently suing a Twitter cow for hurting Devin Nunes's feelings, and actually typed the words "From the beginning of recorded time, the law has faithfully protected a person's 'absolute' right to an unimpaired reputation."

You know this isn't a real lawsuit because the plaintiff, Devin Nunes's former HPSCI stooge Kashyap "Kash" Patel, now of the National Security Council, is referred to as "Kash" throughout. Not "Patel," not "Mr. Patel," not "Plaintiff" -- just "Kash."

You know this isn't a real lawsuit because Patel is suing Politico and its superstar reporter Natasha Bertrand who "covers 'national security' issues" (scare quotes original) and is also "a contributor to extreme left-wing programs, such as those broadcast by MSNBC." According to Patel, Bertrand uses her Twitter account "to smear Politico's opposition," by which he means himself of course, not the Daily Beast or BuzzFeed.
...
You know this isn't a real lawsuit because it describes multiple statements of objective fact as defamatory, including "Patel joined the National Security Council's International Organizations and Alliances directorate in February and was promoted to a senior counterterrorism role around the same time as Trump's fateful call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky," and "Democrats have been especially interested in Patel's role in the Ukraine scandal given his intensive work as Nunes' top staffer on the House Intelligence Committee to discredit the FBI and DOJ officials investigating Russia's election interference," and "Patel's name has been brought up in several recent depositions." All of which are factcheck true!
