1. Because Senate will not call the witnesses

My understanding, from the Clinton impeachment, is that the House will appoint "Impeachment Managers" who will present the case to the Senate. The Senate serves as jurors, not as proscecutors.

were able to call more witnesses during the Senate Trial of Clinton's impeachment - closed door depositions from Lewinsky and others.

My guess is that if It is going to be like a real trial, Chief Justice Roberts would have to rule that calling the Biden's was relevant to the crimes committed by the Trump administrration.
