A modest proposal-------

At the risk of generating a flurry of "that's so sixties!" responses, if we, the people who supposedly still give a damn about the nature of our government and the future of our democracy, cannot be rousted off our ample asses to once again fill the National Mall with pissed off people DEMANDING Trump's conviction and removal, we hand Trump a "pass" in the Senate.

I am not at all certain that "flooding the zone" would succeed in evicting Trump but, as things now stand, it seems certain that without some dramatic event or "intervention", we'll spend most of 2020 hearing him crow about his victory over the "human scum" who tried to reverse his "historic victory" in 2016.

I'll make the two day drive from southern Illinois if someone with the resources, expertise and experience will pick a weekend and secure the necessary permits. I think it is "put up or shut up" time.

I agree that we need something dramatic and impressive,

however...

the legal mechanisms for removing him have all been corrupted, the ONLY mechanism left to us (hopefully) is the ballot box..

therefore

the dramatic event should be in conjunction with the 2020 election...

thoughts?

Now is the time for We the People to SPEAK UP and tell our public servant whom we elected that we demand that he be removed from office immediately and keep up the demanding until it's done.

For those who can't get to DC, your Senators' offices in your home state should also be flooded. They need to see us in the streets all across the nation. This is our time to give our input, in person. And threaten them with challengers in their next run.

If they don' do it, we should take further mass actions until our demands are met.

It's f'in over.
