How is it not in the best interest of any Ukrainians to come clean and back up

the democrats on Trump's bribery? They are already screwed as far as Trump and his worshippers go. It should be clear it's best to do the right thing. That would create goodwill with everyone else.

All I can think of is that they are subject to the same "terror" of Trump's temper that other people are. They are probably thinking, "But what if he wins re-election? We're totally screwed if that happens." The other thing that could happen is that if Ukrainians speak up it becomes partisan, with Senate Republicans voting down future military aid. But TBH I'm just speculating.

Indicate to Putin that the US would sit back and let him reclaim the Ukraine.

They would do well to stay out of US domestic politics entirely.

They are not going to bet their country's future on who wins the next election in the US.

Staying out of other countries' domestic politics means staying out of other countries' domestic politics.

Calls for Ukraine to give evidence are terrifying. Such acts would accomplish exactly what those career professionals warned against: politicizing our support of Ukraine.

It's a mirror of Trump's offense.

Their best option right now is to retreat and lay low. Sooner or later one of the cats will leave, and the mouse will only have to deal with the other, which increases it's chances of survival.

Our next election will determine which cat stays and which cat goes. The Ukranians really have no choice but to wait this out.
