Exclusive: CEO of Ukraine State Gas Firm Preparing to Testify in Giuliani Probe
The CEO of Ukraines state gas company, Naftogaz, is ready to give evidence in a U.S. federal investigation that is reportedly probing the business dealings of Rudy Giuliani, the CEO said in an exclusive interview on Friday.
I will with a high likelihood be invited to testify in this case, Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolyev told TIME, citing his lawyers and contacts in the U.S. If I am called, I would be willing to come and testify, Kobolyev added.
Federal prosecutors are investigating Giuliani for possible campaign finance violations and illegal lobbying, according to reports published in the past week by Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal, both of which cited unnamed U.S. officials and sources familiar with the matter.

Asked whether he is preparing to give prosecutors information about Giuliani or about Parnas and Fruman, the executive said, Both. Everything is connected.

(14,708 posts)7. "testify" implies a grand jury...
Otherwise he would just be deposed, probably by fbi agents in the ukraine. Surely this has already happened. Now they want a grand jury to hear it.
The term "testify" implies in court.
If that's happening, barr has made the calculation that rudy is disposable. I find that hard to believe, but I'll take it.

(53,061 posts)14. Could also mean a deposition under oath
getagrip_already
(14,708 posts)16. that can be done in the ukraine or anywhere in europe......
It doesn't have to happen here.
Maybe it's just a translation issue, but people don't normally use the term "testify" to mean a meeting with the fbi.
But I agree, it's vague.

that "federal investigators" refer to SDNY prosecutors who will work on a sworn deposition and possibly a grand jury appearance. It may be vague on purpose because GJ testimony is supposed to be secret.
