unfortunately, the crappy conditions are why Amazon wants to replace human warehouse workers with actual robots.

it's because it's better for their bottom line to automate than to improve working conditions for humans.

... don’t care about crappy conditions. Ever been To a fully automated production line? It’s way hot or way cold and often they do not even have the lights on. Robots don’t care. Amazon is looking to reduce costs.

At what point do mega corporations have a duty to help ensure a healthy society? My opinion — they are already well beyond that point.

But so far, the public seems to to reward the Amazon model. I admit I use Amazon a lot.... is very convenient. And the march of technology is not going to stop. It's a matter of time before those warehouses are automated.

But that's why we have government, right? We need a robust public safety net.

but I don't go to stores and I don't shop on line on the day after Thanksgiving.
