GBI investigates sudden death of Georgia lawmaker (Jay Powell r)

According to House Speaker David Ralston, House Rules Committee Chairman Jay Powell died Monday night after collapsing at a lawmaker retreat.

The Towns County Sheriff's Office requested the GBI investigate. The agency has not responded to questions about the nature of the investigation.

Very unusual. My cynical side wonders if they are not planting a seed of some conspiracy theory but I obviously have to take it at face value for the moment. I know nothing about the legislator, but am sure it was a shock for friends and family so....
