Republicans To Run Ads On Fox News Supporting Trump Impeachment

Republicans To Run Ads On Fox News Supporting Trump Impeachment

Republicans for the Rule of Law are going to be running an ad campaign on Fox News asking Trump why he won’t allow impeachment witnesses to testify.

Here is the video - at link~

Republicans for the Rule of Law Executive Director Sarah Longwell said in a statement provided to PoliticusUSA:

The impeachment hearings in the House of Representatives have presented startling evidence that the President of the United States abused his power, strong-arming a foreign government to interfere on his behalf in the upcoming election, and damaging national security in the process. The president denies the allegations, but won’t let key administration officials — including Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Energy Secretary Rick Perry, and White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney — testify to Congress.

If the president did nothing wrong, what does he have to hide? If they tell the truth, what is he afraid of? Most importantly, will Republicans in Congress allow the president to simply ignore their constitutionally mandated oversight role?

The media has tried to simplify impeachment into a black and white partisan issue, but there are Republicans in favor of impeachment.

The Republicans for the Rule of Law ask a great question. If Trump is innocent, why is he refusing to allow participation from impeachment witnesses who are working within his administration?

The answer is that if administration officials testified, impeachment support might become bipartisan. It is in Trump’s best interest to make impeachment as a partisan as possible, which is why he is in for a surprise when he turns on his favorite morning TV show next week and sees Republicans calling him out.

Wilson has a wicked sense of humor and a gift for descriptively insulting Trump and his supporters.

Conway is a smart guy with horrible politics.

And, I look forward to the day when we're opposing them both politically.

These people lie so much that I don't think "under oath" is going to prevent them from doing it. Pompeo is a lawyer, he knows how to answer questions without incriminating himself while lying. I just don't trust any of them.

Their lying may throw the impeachment into disarray.

Democrats really need to work on their messaging. They don't need to imitate republicans of course, as republicans use deception and fear to motivate voters, but Democrats need to distill their message and present it more succinctly. They might want to study historical figures like FDR. He knew how to speak to people's hearts, made them believe he cared about them and understood their problems.

Rest assured, the "for the rule of law" part is PR. They're fine with circumventing the law when it gets in their way.

the power of persuasion. We, Dems, need to have a clear, powerful media campaign and keep hammering home on social media, and broadcast. Cable is fragmented and Fox appeals to his base while MSNBC and CNN appeal to a more Dem group (IMO). The reach numbers for these cable networks are small compared to who needs to be reached. Targeted research to identify those independents, and fence sitters can be done and identifying their media consumption preferences identified. Who's doing that for the Dems? tRUMP has Parscale running his campaign; he's targeted media savvy.

We need an agency or media advisers who get this and can execute. The "medium is the message" (Marshall McLuhan) was before social media and a fragmented consumer. Now the message is the message, IMO.

FOX viewers don't tune in to see truth or facts, they tune in for pure, unadulterated propaganda. If IQ45 sees one of them we can expect a twitter storm the likes of which we've never witnessed before. His tiny thumbs will be bleeding from tweeting so much.
