On this day especially, a few moment's of quiet consideration of my many, many blessings

soon leaves me humbled and ashamed. Ashamed that with plenty to eat, a warm dry place to sleep and surrounded by a loving family, I have so often found reason to complain.

I will try to do better in this next year.

Peace, love and dignity to all---Happy Thanksgiving.

I want for nothing, when so many have nothing at all.

Today is a great opportunity to do just what you did: spend some quiet time alone and contemplate the positive, healthy and loving people (and yes, beloved pets, too) in one’s life.

Thank you for starting this thread. Happy Thanksgiving to you, and to all DUers.

making the best of everything that you have.

It's also well to always remember the shortcomings of desire's rewards.

Happy Thanksgiving

Our son is an adult who has been in and out of trouble with addictions for the past 11 years & has now been clean 9 months. He also got a job on his own for only the 2nd time in his life and likes it. It's not the job he should have as he's super intelligent, but it's the one he can get with his felony drug record and I am so glad he finally got over his social anxiety enough to get a job. I just pray he can keep it together when he has $$ in his pockets. So, this is special Thanksgiving for us as a family.

I wish others peace and joy on this special day of Thanksgiving.
