"This is bad for the Democrats".
Every show is the same for Chuck:
Democrats launch impeachment -- "This is bad for the Democrats".
Democrats don't launch impeachment -- "This is bad for the Democrats".
Democrats fight back. -- "This is bad for the Democrats".
Democrats tweet that they like Baby Yoda. -- "This is bad for the Democrats".
Every fucking show is nothing more than a lame ass attempt to make Democrats feel bad about themselves no matter what they do.
that's the only tune that ignorant fuck knows

(63,221 posts)He is the most unappealing little toad on the air in every way. He doesn't really have the right, and he certainly doesn't have the left. Who the fuck IS his audience? I don't get it? Why has this boring, creepy-looking, wishy-washy, loser not been jettisoned a long time ago?

(63,221 posts)I mean, look at him? He looks like Lloyd Christmas from Dumb and Dumber? FFS, if they are going to have him on the on the air, at least make him presentable. Get the pubic hair off his chin and give him a decent haircut. I'm sorry, I know everyone can be perfect looking but I am tired of the double standard. If any woman looked like him - was his female counterpart looks-wise - she would have been yanked a long time ago.
His viewpoints are odious, but FFS if you are going to have him on at least get him a stylist. I am so sick of women having to look perfect and men are allowed on looking like THAT. That is not my only problem with him, I think he should be yanked because he is boring, stupid and blows with the wind. In other words, he has no genuine convictions. He's a coward.

he dumps the volume down so much at the end of his sentences you can't hear what he's mumbling unless you have the volume on the tv cranked up to 50. way to go, mr. professionalism
if whatever the hell he is saying is not important enough for his audience to hear, and not important enough for him to speak clearly, properly, and in a professional broadcasting manner, then maybe he shouldn't bother to say it.
so that is my opinion just on his shit, unprofessional presentation.
now, about his rotten attitude... i agree with what you posted

(14,725 posts)I no longer have any tv but will listen on Sirius if I happen to be in the car. There I listen to the broadcasts of CNN and MSNBC and music, etc. If he starts his pompous analysis of whatever is going on I change to one of the hundreds of channels I like, including the spa music channel. Very relaxing.

(3,635 posts)types who are decent as guests but not good as hosts.
Todd I'd say is the best of that group, at least he asks tough/revelant questions sometimes, and can deliver the contrarian view intelligently. He was good back in the day as a political analyst when he used to come on Hardball.
Kornacke is another one who is decent at going over political numbers and working the map, but terrible as political talkshow host, where you need to have a defined view to hold an audience.

(525 posts)Once again, it was NBCs Meet the Press with Chuck Todd that finished No. 1 among the Sunday shows.
According to Nielsen live-plus-same-day data for Sunday, Nov. 24, MTP averaged 3.33 million total viewers, topping ABCs This Week with George Stephanopoulos by +17% (+473,000) and CBS Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan by +13% (+384,000) in average total viewers.
MTP was also No.1 among viewers from the key A25-54 demo (709,000 viewers), beating ABC by +12% (+75,000) and beating CBS by +26% (+148,000).
An additional 1.08 million total viewers and 295,000 A25-54 viewers watched MTP through rebroadcasts on NBC and MSNBC.
Meet the Press is the only Sunday public affairs program up (+9,000) among total viewers versus the prior year season to date.
CBS Face the Nation (1/2-hour edition) averaged 2.95 million total viewers but just 561,000 A25-54 viewers on Nov. 24. The million total viewers is good for second place, but the A25-54 total is less than stellar, third-most behind NBC and ABC.
The aforementioned ABCs This Week took second place in the demo for the third broadcast in a row. The Nov. 24 broadcast averaged 634,000 adults 25-54, and 2.86 million total viewers.
This Week leads CBS Face the Nation in A25-54 (675,000 vs. 644,000), leading the CBS Sunday show at this point of the season for the 2nd time in the last 3 seasons.
The Nov. 24 edition of Fox News Sunday hosted by Chris Wallace on Fox delivered 1.4 million total viewers and 410,000 demo viewers. The trio of cable replays delivered 2.12 million total viewers and 320,000 A25-54 viewers. Altogether, thats roughly 3.52 million total and 730,000 A25-54 viewers on Nov. 24.
Compared with the same Sunday in 2018, NBC was -3% in total viewers, while CBS was -5%, ABC was -5% and Fox was +4%. Among adults 25-54, NBC was -14%, CBS was a whopping -20%, ABC was -6% while Fox News Sunday was +7%.

(7,430 posts)The corporate narrative is alive and well. Front offices set the tone and encourage a specific narrative that enhances their bottom line. When news bureaus are required to turn a profit, front offices get to say how it's done. Chuck Todd is their star; he carries their message.

(6,178 posts)Why 2014, the annoying 'run-up' to the 2016 election.
We decide what we find important. And Yes we pay for that freedom. Internet access and streaming services. For news, we use on-line news services. The Guardian is a goto source.
We listen to selective podcasts. And obviously DU to share our thoughts.
Some of the best rewards, no ads with stupid repetitive claims.
Books, hobbies, and friends and streaming British programming occupy most of our free time.

(8,922 posts)And yes, he seems to enjoy it. But if you turn on MSNBC you are going to get both-siderism followed by corporate ads all day long. To me it is like listening to an old rattling refrigerator that makes irritating noise all day long, so I don't watch it unless a legitimate news story is breaking and then I'll turn it on to watch some of that. The content is better after 8 PM EST so I DVR that part. Then I can fast forward through the parts I don't want to listen to and all the commercials. I still like Rachel's perspective and I enjoy Lawrence trashing Trump.
For daytime TV I'm usually on Free Speech TV. As for Chuck Todd I don't bother. If it's his hour and I want to watch corporate infotainment I go to CNN. You can't pay me to watch his show.
