Steve Kerr hosts Trayvon Martin's family at Warriors-Heat game

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr honored Trayvon Martin during his team's game against the Miami Heat Friday night with a wristband and tickets for Martin's family.

NBC Sports Bay Area's Logan Murdock tweeted a photo of Kerr wearing an "I am Trayvon Martin" wristband during his postgame press conference at Miami's AmericanAirlines Arena, and Warriors' head of PR Raymond Ridder announced that Kerr provided tickets for the family. In addition, Murdock reported that Kerr met with Martin's mother Sybrina Fulton after the game.

Martin was shot and killed nearly eight years ago by George Zimmerman in Sanford, Florida. Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch coordinator for his gated community, said he shot the 17-year-old Martin out of self defense following a physical altercation. As a big fan of U of Az basketball, I followed Kerr's career after he
graduated and went to the Chicago Bulls, played with Jordan and became
the best three point shooter in the NBA.
Kerr was born in Beirut where his father taught at the University. His father
was murdered by rebels in Beirut.
