His recent interview with Simon Shuster, he did say there was not but he was a long ways from saying Trump was innocent of it.

for Zelensky to ANNOUNCE that he was investigating Joe and Hunter Biden. Zelensky didn't do it, but the fact that Trump asked is still illegal.

They are reporting what he said. He said what Trump wants him to say, which is not surprising.

He said "... you can’t go blocking anything for us. I think that’s just about fairness. It’s not about a quid pro quo."

In other words, he's saying that the US following through with the funds should have been done as a matter of fairness, not contingent on "a favor" (or, as actually happened, because the crook got caught.)

Zelensky has to be very careful what he says because his country has Russia actively fighting him in a war on one side, and a devoted russian agent in the white house on the other side.
