The Revenge of Seamus Romney: Mitt's biggest obstacle?

The back story for those who don't recall, courtesy of http://theimmoralminority.blogspot.com/the stuffed dog on top of the car is a plush representation of Seamus,

...the pet dog that Mittens strapped to the top of the family station wagon, which he then drove at speeds of up to 60 miles an hour as the poor animal evacuated its bowels all over the back window.

Some poor choices in life might be explained away, but somehow I don't think that this story is going to be going away any time soon.

1. I've seen people with dogs in the backs of pickup trucks too

2. Nothing compares to the top of a car going more than 60 mph with no wind protection...

I certainly don't like the idea of a dog in the back of a pickup truck and some of these incidents are nearly equally egregious. But a dog in a kennel strapped down in the back of a truck, would at least have the cab to protect against wind resistance... If they are just allowed to stand in the back of a truck that is exceedingly dangerous--especially if anything but a very slow idling speed off road. The latter (cruising the property in the back of a truck at slow speeds) is something I used to see farm and ranch dogs doing all the time and is arguably not an issue.

I see dogs sticking their heads OUT THE WINDOWS of cars at highway speeds too, but that's no excuse to let them do it.

7. You don't understand what I am saying...

I'm not condoning it. I am simply saying a dog in a kennel tied to the bed of the pick up truck DIRECTLY BEHIND THE CAB OF THE TRUCK is protected by the cab of the truck from blowing debris.

I AM NOT CONDONING it and I you would be ill advised to EVER suggest I am anything but the most sensitive and protective individuals of animals--particularly since i have actually gone to court to testify and aid in prosecution of those committing animal cruelty --and won.

I merely state that in terms of magnitude of abuse, strapping a dog in a crate to the top of a car going more than 60mph is hard to top in terms of animal cruelty. Surely a dog allowed to stand in the back of a truck at top speeds would be equally egregious, but that is not the comparison under discussion.
