one of the managers speaking turns and asks the Chief Justice to suspend his/her time until the absent Senators return to their seats?

since there is no rule mandating that Senators be present for every moment of an impeachment trial. There is merely a decorum "guideline" stating that Senators "should plan on being in attendance" at all times --- not that Senators "must" be in attendance.
