Hat Off To Doug Jones

He, a former civil rights attorney, gave a very forthright interview with Joy today. Didn't duck an awkward Biden/Bernie question. He always seems to be overlooked and unestimated, at least to me, but the guy really has a lot of integrity.

I so hope the DNC has his back for re-election. That’s an important race to be sure.

He has been more of an asset than I figured he would. For a Southern Dem, he is much preferable to Manchin.

And glad to see him applauded here.

I've heard a couple of young progressive activists complaining about Jones' centrist voting record, claiming he needs to be primaried by a true progressive.

The stupid: It hurts.

Doug Jones is well liked in Alabama, and at least has a chance of holding onto his seat.
Not so for a progressive.
Trump got over 62% of the vote in Alabama in 2016.
It's a deep red state.

It widened considerably after the impeachment vote. In the end, I think it's best that Jones stays a Senator. Sometimes voting your conscience isn't the best thing to do.

Sorry for the rant, I'm just upset because I just searched for this poll right before I posted it. I had no idea he was losing by such a wide margin.

and still didn't even get a majority. AGAINST A PEDOPHILE!

Only 20,000 people voted for him instead of a Pedophile!

They don't care about those things.

This has nothing to do with my respect for Jones, just my disgust at the voters of Alabama.
