@Laurie_Garrett
According to this #SARSCoV2 genetic analysis the viral strain in Washington State traces to a Chinese strain from Fujian, likely arriving in Seattle area before January 15.
If this is true, #COVID19 has been in the area, undetected, for 6 weeks.

Interesting,the possibility that some people didnt have the flu this season but COVID-19, depending on the testing.

(7,275 posts)If they could analyze the virus from the patients quarantined at Travis AFB, those early evacuees from Wuhan, they may be able to tell if that community spread came from there (perhaps related to the HHS whistleblower situation).

(11,248 posts)Since this virus has been "in the wild" in Washington for approximately 6 weeks (well over the longest incubation term estimated) has there been any noticeable (even relatively small) spike in mortality associated with the normal flu season in this area?

(14,118 posts)treat the COVID-19. It was the consensus of that thread that the quinine in tonic water would be beneficial, gin optional. Sorry I don't have the reference to that other thread but I'm glad to see someone pick up on it. I shoulda been more thorough in my first post here, too, but it's a learning experience.

(7,286 posts)I heard that this virus has a harder effect on men vs women. Something to do with its origins from animals. Let the females survive to reproduce
Anybody know?
