The Florida governors office has confirmed two presumptively positive cases of coronavirus in the state Sunday.
The office of Gov. Ron DeSantis confirms two individuals in the State of Florida tested presumptively positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), including a resident of Manatee County and a resident of Hillsborough County.
DeSantis and the State Health Officer and Surgeon General, Dr. Scott Rivkees, have declared a public health emergency in the state.
According to the governors office, Florida Department of Health will actively monitor, at a minimum, all persons meeting the definition of a Person Under Investigation (PUI) as defined by the CDC for COVID-19 for a period of at least 14 days or until the PUI tests negative for COVID-19...

(17,527 posts)We have visitors from all over the world; (around 110 million per year) they come, they spend money, they spread their germs and then they move on. We also have a migration of people from the North who winter here and return to the North in the Spring, they are locally referred to as "Snowbirds." The new presumptive cases are from an area popular to Snowbirds. It is about time for the North bound Snowbird migration.
I was inferring that it was an efficient way to rapidly transmit the disease over long distances to many new venues. Savvy?
