Kind of explains how a certain percentage of Americans still can't see that Trump is dumber than a bag of dirt .........
38% of Americans wouldn't buy Corona beer "under any circumstances" because of the coronavirus, according to a recent survey.
Just to be abundantly clear: There is no link between the virus and the beer.

(17,972 posts)To lose 20 Lbs after childbirth. I asked my Doctor for something to lose weight.. That was back when pills were supposed to be miracle workers. He told me the best way to lose weight was to put my hands against the table and push back.
Made me angry, I bought a calorie book, went on a thousand calorie a day diet, using Ayds, (25 Calories,) for my sweet tooth, I lost over 20 Lbs. Shocked the heck out of him! I can still see his face.
To this day I know that is the way to lose weight.

While working in a bakery, I once told a young kid to wash his hands after touching yeast so he wouldn't get yeast infection. He rushed over to the sink. All the women were laughing.

Have you heard that 38 percent of Americans wont drink Corona beer, because they are afraid of contracting the coronavirus?
For the past hours, this finding has spread across the internet like wildfire (or, more apt, a dangerous disease). CNN, the New York Post, and Vice all wrote up the poll.
On Twitter, where 38% of Americans was the top national trend for parts of the day, many writers with large followings used it as an occasion to condemn their fellow citizens as idiots. 38% of Americans shouldnt be allowed to roam free, Benjamin Dreyer, an author, wrote.
The problem here is that the poll, published by the PR agency 5WPR, absolutely did not find what the wags on Twitter say it did. Its dissemination, however, does tell us an awful lot about a screwed-up media system that allows unscrupulous companies and individuals to spread misinformation.

(51,430 posts)"But this connection is manufactured, and Torossian is ignoring far more mundane reasons Americans might not buy a Corona, including that they dont like the taste. Of those Americans who did report regularly drinking Corona, only 4 percent said they would now stop drinking the beer."
That is a 34% difference from the bogus 38%.

(5,267 posts)That rumor took hold in 2004 when Target wouldn't let Salvation Army bellringers set up outside their stores and France had opposed the Iraq war and wouldn't send troops. Repub (ex)friends of mine actually believed that due to their partipation in viral chain emails and I would expect that Trumper rightwingers with animosity to Mexico are equally gullible to the false Corona rumors on rightwing social media.
