Trump says it's safe to hold his rallies amid coronavirus outbreak

President Trump said Monday that he believed it was safe to continue holding campaign rallies across the country during the coronavirus outbreak.

“I think it’s very safe,” Trump told reporters when asked whether he believed holding rallies was safe during an Oval Office meeting with Colombian President Iván Duque Márquez on Monday morning.
Trump, who is scheduled to headline a rally in Charlotte, N.C., on Monday evening, (said)
"Well this was set up a long time ago and others are,” Trump said, referring to the North Carolina rally. (So his rallies are safe?)

The coronavirus outbreak has led a number of countries in Europe and Asia to take measures to mitigate the spread; Switzerland, for instance, has banned events of over 1,000 and Japan has implemented a country-wide school closure. Such steps could have an impact on the presidential campaign trail, if local officials decide to limit so-called “mass gatherings” like concerts or political rallies, health experts say.

It’s possible Americans who would otherwise attend campaign rallies or events like those held by Trump and other candidates could also choose to stay home in order to limit their interactions with other people in an effort to avoid catching the virus, thereby reducing attendance at political events.

it would be so perfect karma if the notorious germaphobe who is old, obese and doesn't look or act well. got severely sick or worse from shaking hands with one of his deplorables.

Brilliant. The good news is that the fealty crowd can spread it to each other. The bad news is that it just provides a greater opportunity to spread among the general public since we can't put trumpvirals in sealed hamster balls

My view is that he would want to accelerate or exacerbate ANYTHING that will damage this country. Wall St. won't matter IF he gets a disaster, catastrophe or anything else that will provide him his much needed dictatorship so he can finally "get off" because the pressure of having to wait is giving him a bad case of Fascist Blue Balls.

What a irresponsible reaction, but let there be Vector Rallies for the Trump Virus.

Spreading the rumor that attending a Trump rally boosts your susceptibility to catching Covid 19 could depress attendance, and then Needy Amin really WOULD be feeling sick.

Fat Donnie never lies about anything -- especially something that would affect the size of his ego-rallies.

Any MAGAt who attends deserves what they get. Too bad it could affect their kids, though. They had nothing to do with having stupid parents.
