Thanks for posting this. I was feeling ill but my fever broke and am feeling better today. I think it was just a head cold but I'm not 70 or have any preexisting condition. I was wondering how I could get tested and this answers the question. I Can't...at least not in Trump's America.
I wonder If I flew to South Korea, if they would test me? Since my country can't handle sciencey things, I might as well try some other countries for medical help. But then all those people I might be infecting would not appreciate it.

(29,098 posts)The few tests that are available need to be triaged for the most critically ill right now. I won't rant about why we don't have tests available when South Korea is currently doing drive through testing.
I live in the Seattle Area Hot Zone. I sure as hell would like to know if I'm shedding this virus.
I have to give this lady credit but it's fruitless to even ask now. They are telling us not to even go to the Dr with cold or flu symptoms but to call or message if you are feeling ill. The reality is there is nothing much they can do for you unless it's the flu and you won't know if it's flu or covid 19 until you need more intensive intervention. If you are sniffly, and feeling blah and fevery with a slight cough all you can do is wait it out and see what happens. In the meanwhile, drink fluids and wash your hands...
Also without greater testing it looks like this virus is more deadly than it may be....We just don't know. Out of the 27 people hospitalized in the Seattle area 9 are dead. If you look at those numbers, It seems more fatal than it probably is.
