Sippenhaft - Just another way Trump emulates Hitler

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sippenhaft

Sippenhaft or Sippenhaftung (German: [ˈzɪpənˌhaft ʊŋ] kin liability) is a German term for the idea that a family or clan shares the responsibility for a crime or act committed by one of its members, justifying collective punishment. As a legal principle, it was derived from Germanic law in the Middle Ages, usually in the form of fines and compensations.

During medieval times, Sippenhaft was a common legal principle among Germanic peoples, Anglo-Saxons and Scandinavians. It meant that the family of an offender could also be subject to fines, revenge or punishment as well as the offender.

Hitler and the Nazis revived the term to justify punishment of spouses, children and relatives; the family shared the crime of the 'offender'.

When von Stauffenberg failed in his plan to kill Hitler, he was executed the next day. His wife and brother who knew nothing of the plan were sent to concentration camps. His wife survived Ravensbruck, dying in 2006.

Does this remind you of Alexander and Yevgeny Vindman?
