There will be infected persons who will be asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic and who will never know they had it. Those people will go to work not knowing they have it. They will get better.

Granted, they will certainly spread the infection unknowingly as well, but this doesn't strike me as an affirmative suggestion that people with it should go to work.

Does that really sound like he is saying people should go to work knowing they are infected?

I think you are giving him too much credit on nuance.

His dimwit base certainly don't get nuance. And if you parse it the other way he does actually say they should go to work sick.
