Free market economy, capitalism, productivity, personal responsibility and ambition, hard work, creating jobs for others, American ingenuity, the right for everyone to succeed and prosper, blah, blah, blah. You can have all that, but it's not worth it to any of us if having billionaires hurts our democracy. With that kind of wealth, a few of them, not all, but a few of them can and will pervert our democracy and you will lose your say in how this country runs."

5. I just put it on practical terms....

The 70% of the American economy is driven by consumer spending.

If wealth and income continues to concentrate in the hands of the top 1%, what do you think will happen to an economy dependent on consumer spending? It's ain't good, I can tell you that!

We are already to the point where many supposedly middle-class people cannot afford a middle-class lifestyle.
