Judge Reggie Walton has ordered the DOJ to hand over a copy of the unredacted Mueller report

Kyle Griffin@kylegriffin1
Judge Reggie Walton has ordered the Justice Department to hand over to him a copy of the unredacted Mueller report and accused Attorney General Barr of misrepresenting its findings in the days before it was submitted to Congress last year.

Judge Reggie B. Walton, a federal district court judge in Washington, said that he could not reconcile Barr's public comments in April 2019 about the report with the actual findings that Special Counsel Robert Mueller outlined.

"The inconsistencies between Attorney General Barr’s statements, made at a time when the public did not have access to the redacted version of the Mueller Report to assess the veracity of his statements, and portions of the redacted version of the Mueller Report that conflict with those statements cause the Court to seriously question whether Attorney General Barr made a calculated attempt to influence public discourse about the Mueller Report in favor of President Trump despite certain findings in the redacted version of the Mueller Report to the contrary," Walton wrote in his decision.

"These circumstances generally, and Attorney General Barr’s lack of candor specifically, call into question Attorney General Barr’s credibility" as well as the DOJ's arguments in a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit, Walton added.

Trump has already appointed 25% of federal judges. Hopefully, they won’t all be partisan, but there are shades of partisanship. Many may turn out ok, but we know they have searched far and wide to find the ones most likely to let their personal opinions leach into their rulings.

In my experience I believe they try to do the right thing and take pride in their neutrality. Since judges are human that turns out not to be the case sometimes. William Barr is an attorney bound by the same ethical rules as the rest of us attorneys and judges and look what he has done.

I think I deserve to see what's in it.

Funny how most repugs are just fine paying taxes for this and not getting anything in return. Funny, well not really, how they hate to pay taxes that help others. Fuck them!

I love paying taxes to help others - I am one, and will always be, an "other."

Open up this whole shitshow up for the world to see. If we can't handle transparency, we can't handle the means to our own survival.

What the fuck do I know. I supported Elizabeth Warren.

the glossary includes partly redactions for stone and corsi - long time talk radio operators - two of the few redaction in the glossary

and the name between graf and hawker is redacted completely along with the short description. hannity is in the report incidentally in a couple of places and should be there.

they are all talk radio related.

sam nunberg should not be allowed on msnbc agaain without beign asked about saying he "listened to 1000s of hours of talk radio" in 2014 and trump "was getting reports" from him

that's the same year a russian troll said they got a list of topics to write about.

it is fucking incredible how ignorant big city media is of talk radio

"The wheels of justice turn slowly, but…"

In the dynamic political culture within which we now exist, this doesn't work. The judiciary must "loose the lightning of it's terrible swift sword" (to borrow lyrical analogy).

Is it any wonder that McConnell is working overtime to bolster the judiciary with conservative judges?

At the risk of inviting DU mediation, our party has really "screwed the pooch" or "fiddled while Rome burns" on the matter of ensuring federal judicial authority consistent with the liberal view of justice.

How in hell did this happen without a fight???
