Trump tells Fox News he's going after Social Security and Medicare: 'We'll be cutting'

At a town hall meeting on Fox News Thursday, President Donald Trump acknowledged that his administration intends to cut Social Security and Medicare.

“We — when these trade deals kick in, you know this economy is the best economy we’ve ever had. It’s nothing to what it’s going to be when the trade deals kick in,” said Trump.

“But if you don’t cut something in entitlements, you’ll never really deal with that,” said the questioner.

“We’ll be cutting, but we’re also going to have growth like you’ve never had before,” said Trump.

The president campaigned on protecting Social Security and Medicare in 2016. However, he has never shown any particular interest in doing so.

to make false equalizations between Democrats and Republicans. Expect him to dishonestly infer that Biden and Trump are similarly callously uncaring and hurtful to recipients. The usual.

Of course we all know that for 50 years Biden has been a strong protector of Social Security and its recipients and that nothing could be less true. But not everyone does, and those are the ones whose trust in Democrats Sanders is attempting to destroy. And every time he succeeds is a gift to Trump.

We should always hope Sanders makes a genuine attempt to defend Social Security instead of weaponizing Trump's attack to use against Biden, and maybe this time that'll be the case, but no one should be surprised or disappointed if he doesn't come through.

Romney and the "47% takers" comments, then I see our chances of victory in 2020 slipping away.

That a “booming” economy helps the disabled and elderly to where they can cut benefits?
Do they not have disabled and elderly family members?
