To tell you the truth, since this is one of the biggest vacation spots for people from all over the world, I'm surprised it took so long.

(7,808 posts)It was just a matter of time. We have just one so far, but The Strip and casinos are crowded, everyone touching screens and buttons as they gamble.
As mom-in-law says, "it is what it is."
Edited to add: I was not put out or insulted at all by anyone's reaction. It was pretty much inevitable since we get visitors from around the world. Now we're going to see how things are in places like Seattle that have it waaay worse so far.

(34,661 posts)was admitted to the VA hospital sometime early today.
And the Media here is poo pooing this as a nonevent. Even the Clark County Health District CEO does a blow off interview with the media this afternoon.
BTW,the Adelsen owned News Paper carried a short blurb about the Virus in Washington State. The Boys on the Stripe must be scared shitless. Eleven new owners in the last two months all on leveraged debt.

I hope he recovers completely.
Meanwhile, SXSW is about to take place in my backyard. That's going to escalate things locally.

(19,558 posts)Proof COVID-19 is a Democratic hoax! If it were real it'd be at the Aria with all the real aspiring pandemics!

(108,959 posts)Here we only had one case. Then we had a second case. Within a week they were estimating we had hundreds of "cryptic" cases, and that the outbreak actually started 6 weeks before they discovered it.

(7,808 posts)I've been suspecting that I have had it for the past 2 ~ 3 weeks.
I've been achy & sore, which I've blamed on an old office chair and bad posture. It got worse as the day went on. By 8pm, all I can do is fall into bed.
I've had "traveling pain," which I put down as my arthritis flaring up. Left shoulder for a couple days, then right shoulder, then left knee, now it's in my left heel. This has happened before so I just got through it.
I've had severe stinging in my sinuses resulting in lots of sneezing - well, there's been a pollen alert.
I had a slightly dry and uncomfortable throat last week and a slight cough. I won't call it a sore throat because it didn't really hurt. I blamed a cold front that was coming through.
So... whaddya think? Was it COVID-19? Or just a cold in a 60 year old body?

(37 posts)At a job interview. I forgot to ask where he's staying. We don't gamble, so he'll avoid the casinos, but still...

You heard that right - Las Vegas.
The USA is exporting cases and the travel history is rapidly becoming irrelevant. https://bit.ly/2uXYdFj

Oh year -- Mardi Gras was last week.
