Ripple effects

I know a couple of people who are buying houses in Portland, OR where prices have been rapidly rising. The only way it penciled out was to use part of the house as an AirBnB room/suite. That income stream appears to be in jeopardy as tourism and travel drop off. That part of the gig economy is likely going to suffer but Uber and Lyft may prosper if car-less people are afraid to use mass transit.
