But it's probably more likely the numbers infected and dying aren't lining up with tRump's desired narrative. All that publicity is taking the spotlight off of tRump.

(9,313 posts)Undoubtedly he called Pence on the carpet for complimenting Inslee

"I told Mike not to be complimentary to the governor, because that governor is a snake," Trump said of Inslee. "I said, 'if youre nice to him he will take advantage.'"
"Let me just tell you, we have a lot of problems with the governor. So, Mike may be happy with him, but Im not," Trump continued, claiming Democrats would refuse to give him credit regardless of the quality of response to the coronavirus.
Pence commended Inslee's work combatting the coronavirus in Washington state during a press briefing on Thursday night. Inslee added that he and the vice president had productive discussions, but largely dodged questions about his issues with Trump.
Inslee, who ran a brief presidential campaign last year, suggested last week following a call with Pence that the administration would be more successful in addressing the virus if it "stuck to the science and told the truth."
I've looked for a transcript of the whole CDC press conference... haven't found so far. Wanted to read over because. Trump out did himself on several fronts.
Along with the lies about flawed test "perfectness," availability to anyone who wants one and crap about Inslee, he went on about his vast expertise... something about how he "really knows this world {science-y stuff}" and something about record-holding MIT prof relative... and how he could have been a scientist and how surprised CDC people were about how knowledgeable he was....

(27,794 posts)I think Inslee would be a good,. no great VP choice. It would send Trump round the bend. He's already come off on the short end with Inslee on a bunch of immigration issues.
as Dept of Interior or Energy.

(6,831 posts)During the early debates, Jay - being the most pro-active candidate on climate change - challenged trumpie's BS lies and kept hammering away at the crisis we face. In so doing, he undermined trumpie's "rake the forests" argument with such disdain that even trumpie felt the heat. He's not forgiven Jay for contradicting him on science.

I remember little doll hands donnie doing the arm crossed thing while Inslee let him have it.
