I'm sure California (in particular) as well as other cities are taking precautions. But I'm not sure what can be done for those that are this vulnerable, un-housed, and have concomitant illnesses. Very frightening.

(12,712 posts)Not everyone who is homeless lives on "skid row", so we are on the skids, but that makes it sound derogatory. There is now a very diverse section of people who are unable to afford housing.
We do our best and yeah, even having the flu is a big problem in a tent or car since you really have to go out for things and are exposed to the elements more.
If it spreads throughout the homeless community, that could be a rather disastrous in more ways than one and I fear that Trump will use scapegoating and even camps to deal with it, which is his intent. This is a scapegoat goldmine to offer his "solution" to.

(4,429 posts)that specific area in California. The concentration of those who are unhoused - living on just a few streets. (I made it just a bit wider because there might be other areas, in other cities, that are comparable).
