Billy Connolly finished with stage: "listen to comedians and poets, they're telling the truth..."

Saw a few shows live in NY. I'll always treasure memories of laughing my head off.

He may be finished with the stage, but he'll continue to delight.

"People should listen to comedians and poets, they're telling the truth... anybody who listens to Boris needs professional help because he's a big, silly toff and Britain's been listening to big, silly toffs for years."

and thought I was going to read about another person who had made me happy had died. Whew! He has been ill for quite some time but he seems to be doing well comparatively.

I know his old stand up is dated and some of it is very misogynist and I hate that but the rest of him always made me just laugh so hard. I think half of it was just him.

Good luck Mr. Connolly. May you live long without any more symptoms or complications and make yourself and others happy with your art or whatever you choose to do.

Saw him live once in Portland, a second-cousin of mine worked with him on Head of the Class, and on a road trip he damned near killed me; I was listening to concert recordings and laughed so hard I literally couldn't see straight, and almost drove off the road.

… anger about the COVID 19 testing debacle. I'm going pick one of those specials to watch.

Seething at the failures and fallout, and feeling so helpless to do anything about it, isn't helpful. Some heart lifting humor is in order!
