A Sunday interview with Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson may have done more harm than good when it comes to assuring Americans that the Trump administration has the coronavirus under control.
In an interview with ABCs George Stephanopoulos, Carson who is a former neurosurgeon but not an infectious disease expert compared COVID-19 to the common flu.
Stephanopoulos noted that the Grand Princess is scheduled to dock in Oakland this week with infected passengers.
What plan is in place to deal with the 3,500 people onboard? the ABC host asked.
Carson, however, declined to reveal the plan.

(14,961 posts)on the ship, right before that account was suspended. I then saw at least two more food shortage related tweets. I wonder if Twitter is working with the administration on this? I know that sounds crazy, but a lot of crazy stuff has been panning out this days.
What is their plan, starve them to death? Sink the ship? Who knows, this is all bonkers.

Total cruelty in every single decision made by these people.

(13,399 posts)medicated for? A guy that at one time was really sharp actually should be capable of being up to speed and running something like HUD. I mean if he was willing to get competent people working for him, listen to them and use common sense. Of course he's just part of this smash and grab administration and looking to loot as much as possible for himself and his buddies.

(101,730 posts)He may have been a prominent neurosurgeon, but on closer examination, his "success" was not all as promoted. He took the cases others refused which gave frightened parents some hope and for which many still laud him, but his failures were as those who refused to take the cases predicted.

(12,712 posts)Even if you are a "brain surgeon" do not perform a lobotomy on yourself. That's obviously not working out well and he must have damaged some important regions of his brain in the process. I have never seen a Dunning-Kruger brain surgeon before, but now I have. Amazing.
Well, on the other hand, if you do, you are a good candidate for Dr. Genius to appoint to something important so that you can neglect and destroy it.
Great not-job, Ben. Too bad the snail didn't get the position, something might be working right.

The Feds got to be in full Panic Mode with this and it should be easy for the locals to see just how they are planning to screw this up. Isolation Tents are easy to spot.

Further information: Internment of Japanese Americans
In Spring 1942 the Tanforan Park Racetrack became the temporary Tanforan Assembly Center to process approximately 8,000 Bay Area Japanese Americans, U.S. citizens of Japanese ancestry with most born in the United States, for forced relocation and internment during WW II. The people were housed in horse stable stalls, on grandstands, or in 170 barracks quickly built in the infield, while awaiting removal to Japanese American Segregation Centers in other parts of the state and country.
Kazue Togasaki was detained for a month at the Tanforan Assembly Center, and while there she delivered fifty babies and led an all-Japanese-American medical team. Artist Miné Okubo was detained at Tanforan before transferring to the Topaz Relocation Center. She documented the daily life in internment camps with a series of drawings, many which were later published in her book "Citizen 13660"
