So I came across a gas mask I own

Was cleaning out my garage last week and I came across a gas mask. Perfectly good. I was looking for this during Halloween because I was going to dress up as Heisenberg. But I couldn't find it. But now that I come across it I'm not sure that's a sign or whatever. but would it be worth buying some extra filters for just in case? Or just stick with n95 maskes?

I would go with the disposable.

Take them off outside and drop them (place a garbage pail outdoors), then strip off the latex gloves by turning them inside out from the wrist, pull out your portable bottle of hand sanitizer and do your hands, open the door, and while still outside, do your hands again. Enter your home.

Better than all of that, stay home as much as possible.

Mainly grocery stores. You can imagine people at PepsiCo are in panic mode because of it.

most are of the type that won't protect them from a direct sneeze to their face.

What they do is prevent the wearer from inadvertantly touching their mouth or nose, which is useful.

I wouldn't be worried at all about someone in the grocery store stocking shelves or wherever wearing a mask and latex gloves. I would think good... if that person IS infected, that mask will prevent their cough or sneeze from traveling far. Thanks!

of an incident from 1978. Back then, people could smoke inside offices, and my manager smoked a lot. A friend had an Army surplus gas mask, and I had it hidden in a desk drawer for the right moment to appear.

I was walking past this manager, who was speaking with two of my co-workers, and I used the file folder in my hand to fan away a bit of smoke as I passed. In playful defiance of me, he whirled around and blew a whole lungful of smoke my way, then went back to talking with my co-workers.

Within five seconds, I was back in their presence, gas mask fully on, and daring him to do that again. The co-workers couldn't contain their laughter, and the manager was stunned. He was a good sort, and we all had a laugh later, he referred to me as "Gas Mask" every once in awhile, but he never blew smoke at me again!

I've learned about humor, the speed of a comeback is what sells the laugh, having the appropriate prop humor for this situation so quickly was priceless!

I left the job for reasons other than Bob the manager some months later, and looked him up about five years later when I was back in town. He asked me if I still had the gas mask.
