It was apparent their parents had grabbed a bunch of stuff at the store to teach their kids the fine American art of price gouging the scared.

We have 27 and one half rolls in the house. My poverty makes me want to sing, way down low, "Sometimes I feel like a motherless child."

We do not have the hoarding issue here yet. I was at the grocery store late last week and the shelves were full. I was talking to a stock clerk about the hoarding and she had not heard of it.

It gets almost mushy. Good that it degrades, but not a good item for a long term stockpile.

Might be better to buy some cheap washcloths and some barrels of water.

TP in my house does double duty as buttwipe and nosewipe during allergy/cold season.

A case of 48 double rolls of my favorite (Cottonelle Aloe & E) used to be $15. Now it's $35 and will ship in "a few weeks".

THIS is why we kept the extra case in the back room.

2 people are probably going to go through a roll once every two days.... so 2400 days worth of TP. That's 6.5 years worth of TP

I don't think that's rational!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What are you going to do, stay home for 6.5 years?????? Virus or not you still need FOOD at some point.

and it had been the third time in a week that they had run out. The manager told us that not only were they out, but that all of the COSTCOs down in Vancouver (I think there are three of them.) were out, too, even Kirkland (HQ of COSTCO) was also all out. They were also out of bottled water.

We tried to go to the Freddy's across the street, but they were out as well. Then stopped at the WalMart. They had three packages left. Bought one.

People are terrified there's going to be a quarantine. But what your neighbor did is just shameful.

I’m a little confused why he’d want to hoard it. And recipes for make it yourself sanitizer have been on the internet all day.

Heck, if he’d saved his money, instead of those frivolous expenditures, he could have bought himself another confederate flag and a Toby Keith album.

People were buying out stores entire stocks of eclipse glasses and trying to sell them at 500% profit. Local agencies managed to get new supplies and were selling them for a buck. That last day craigslist was full of adds by people trying to sell all the glasses they'd horded. You could watch the price dropping by the hour and then you know what? They were suddenly useless.

That's about the only way anybody would need that much toilet paper for a household of two. Even with daily doses of Taco Bell, it's still a lot toilet paper for two. I have to wonder if they are doing some kind of mummy role play or something...

With the stock market going to hell in a hand basket, speculating on toilet paper makes perfect sense. While they watch their investments going down the drain, they can see that the toilet paper is still there. It is probably quite comforting. It is better then ending up with the shitty end of the stick.... Give me liberty or give me toilet paper.

It is all a part of Making America Great again.
