...walking into our urgent care clinics tomorrow. They will all be patients without appointments, so they won't be telephone screened. It sounds like management is expecting (preparing?) for an influx. All the urgent care clinics are far away from my home clinic, so I won't be volunteering. I'll just stick to my regular shift and location, which will be crazy enough on a regular Monday.

(16,377 posts)The HMO where I work won't give PPE to the frontline patient registration staff, just the physicians and nurses. We were told it was due to the shortage, but one manager told me it's actually the "optics" of having the members see us in masks as soon as they walk in. Truthfully, it's probably both.

(16,377 posts)We are experiencing the second wave of the flu, which I think is worst than the first. There are also other cold viruses out there; plus, since we've had some warm weather, we're seeing a lot of allergy sufferers, too.

(51,585 posts)then went back to college and got a second degree in teaching. I went from bad to worse as far as passing germs onto others in a work environment is concerned.

(7,537 posts)I'm wearing nitrile gloves at the recommendation of the Southern Nevada Health District and using an ammonia-based food service sanitizer that is specifically listed as effective against Coronavirus (ATCC VR-740, Strain 229E). Of course this is only useful on hard, non-porous surfaces.
