Some projections are suggesting a half a million deaths (vast majority over 80) just in the US which would be 150 times more deadly than 9/11. Had Middle Eastern terrorists spread this virus around instead of it being by accident, can you imagine how over the top Fox and Trump would be right now?

Over 80 is primarily the Silent Generation, which is the most heavily slanted Republican voting block. The have voted red all their lives due to generational imprinting. Many came of voting age during Eisenhower and his astronomical approval ratings.

Silent Generation is either 1925-1945 or 1928-1945, depending which source you prefer. I normally think of it as 1928-1945 because that's what Pew Research uses.

GOP strategist Mike Murphy said a couple of years ago that Trump's 2016 margin was now dead. He was referring to mortality realities among the Silent Generation.
