Sites Around World Close, Stocks and Oil Prices Plunge as Virus Spreads

The world’s largest economies delivered more worrisome cues Monday as anxiety over the virus outbreak sent stock and oil prices plunging and closed sites from the Sistine Chapel to Saudi Arabian schools.

Shares in Asia and the Mideast and U.S. futures were down sharply, reports on the health of the economies of Japan and China stirred more unease, and the downturn was being felt by people around the world.

"Our business is one-fifth of what it was before," said Cheng Sheng, who helps run a food stand in Beijing that sells sausages and noodles. "There’s much less foot traffic. There are no people."

As the weakening economy was blamed at least in part on the virus that has infected more than 110,000 people, cases were reported in more than half the world’s countries and flash points were erupting around the globe.

My flight down to Spain was canceled for Wednesday, and yet, looking for other flights involving connections, whether in Paris, Amsterdam or Madrid, it is hard to get a seat, as they all seem fully booked.

And fake news. He ignored warnings, cut staff over this type of issues, and claims others are to blame for his incompetence. Now the pandemic is here as markets start dropping like a rock, and watch how quickly he claims he never said or did things to hinder a response, and for tests, and adequate pre-planning to combat this virus outbreak. He'll deny he did all of it, and then threaten more people to remain silence , or start lying for him. The truth exposes the degree of failure trump has been on this and many other issues. He can't tell the truth, or ever be trusted on anything.

due to the fear of spread of Covid-19. That's pretty extreme. I live here, but I just heard that from a visitor.
