So I have a pair of latex gloves for my cleaning lady when she comes this week...

will this be enough for her and us to feel safe? We need her to do laundry and general housework since we are old. But I want her to feel OK about cleaning our house, while protecting us (since we are at risk, being elderly).

they might have already taken some steps to help. They are a nonprofit that places caregivers and housekeepers in the homes of elderly folks...

risk from you, especially wearing gloves and there to disinfect/clean. Albeit I'd probably remind her that you are both "fragile so that you need to be very cautious about being around anyone with cough or other symptoms. Masks are for those situations--for the person with the symptoms/cough.

I always warn her when we have colds or flu and tell her to use mask and gloves. She is youngish and doesn’t seem to worry.

I start the laundry for her so she doesn’t touch gross clothes, though.

Stay a meter apart at all times. It’s best not to stay in the same room as much as you can.
